Current Volunteer Opportunities
Monthly Gathering Support
Our monthly gatherings are a great opportunity to connect with fellow aviation enthusiasts, and a little volunteer help goes a long way in making these evenings successful!
We're always looking for members and friends who can lend a hand with setup, bring food to share, or help with cleanup afterward.
Whether you can help occasionally or regularly, we'd appreciate your support.

Youth Program Support
We welcome volunteers who are interested in supporting youth programs, mentoring students, assisting with hands on activities, or helping with coordination.
Aviation experience is helpful but not required. A willingness to engage and support young people is what matters most.
Share Your Skills & Experience
Chapter 509 is full of members with incredible aviation knowledge, skills, projects, and experience, and we'd love to create more opportunities to share them.
Building or restoring an aircraft? Have a workshop, hangar, or project others might enjoy seeing? Know a skill you could demonstrate or teach? Have an idea for a hands-on activity, program, tour, or gathering?
You don't need to have a fully developed plan. If there's something you'd be interested in sharing or helping lead, let us know. We'd love to help turn member interests and expertise into new Chapter 509 opportunities.
Young Eagles Pilots
We are currently seeking pilots to volunteer for our Young Eagles rallies. Volunteer pilots provide introductory flights to youth and help create memorable first aviation experiences.

Young Eagles Volunteers
Not a pilot? Volunteers are also needed to help with event setup, registration, ground coordination, parking assistance, and general support during Young Eagles rallies.
These events rely on organized and dependable volunteers to run smoothly.
Special Events
Throughout the year, Chapter 509 hosts and participates in special events that take a team of volunteers to make happen. Opportunities may include our annual Pancake Breakfast, aviation events, community outreach, and other chapter activities.
Volunteer needs vary by event and may include setup, food service, greeting guests, event support, cleanup, and more.
